This March, we’re proud to celebrate three outstanding hospitality professionals whose dedication, leadership, and passion make a meaningful impact on their teams and guests everyday. We are proud to spotlight Darin O’Connor from the InterContinental Toronto Centre, Nitin Gautam from The Pearl Hotel & Spa, and Aaron Vu from The Fairmont Royal York.
🌟 Meet Darin O’Connor – Private Dining Server, InterContinental Toronto Centre

With nearly 40 years of dedicated service, Darin O’Connor is one of the most senior and respected members of the Room Service and Private Dining team at InterContinental Toronto Centre. Over the decades, he has built a reputation for reliability, precision, and consistency – qualities that define exceptional hospitality.
Darin approaches every shift with care, ensuring each detail aligns with the hotel’s high service standards. Punctual and deeply dependable, he has remained a steady presence through years of change, supporting smooth operations and mentoring new team members along the way.
When asked what he enjoys most about working in hospitality, Darin shared:
“I like working in room service. I enjoy meeting different guests and having quick chats with them, and it’s a job that keeps me moving and active. I also appreciate the reputation I’ve earned through my work.”
His pride in his work and the relationships he builds reflect the heart of hospitality: connection, care, and consistency.
🌟 Meet Nitin Gautam – Senior Rooms Manager, The Pearle Hotel & Spa

Since joining The Pearle Hotel & Spa in December 2022 as Front Desk Manager, Nitin Gautam has demonstrated strong leadership and a collaborative spirit. Hands-on and team-focused, he quickly built meaningful connections across departments, even cross-training with Housekeeping to deepen his operational knowledge and better support his colleagues.
His commitment to growth and team development led to his promotion to Senior Rooms Manager in March 2025. Throughout 2025, Nitin played a key role in stabilizing and strengthening his team while driving year-over-year growth across key performance areas. His impact was recognized when he was named Leader of the Quarter in Q3 2025.
When asked what he loves most about hospitality, Nitin shared:
“What I love most about hospitality is creating an environment where people feel respected, supported, and valued. When the team feels good about what they do, that energy carries through to our guests. I also love finding new ways to make each guest’s visit feel special and memorable.”
His leadership philosophy highlights the powerful connection between team culture and guest experience.
When it comes to travel, Nitin’s favourite destination is Vancouver, where natural beauty meets vibrant city life.
🌟 Meet Aaron Vu – Banquet Porter, The Fairmont Royal York

As a dedicated Banquet Porter at Fairmont Royal York, Aaron Vu brings positivity, professionalism, and a strong work ethic to every shift. Working behind the scenes, he plays an essential role in ensuring events run seamlessly and that guests experience the exceptional service the hotel is known for.
When asked what he loves most about working in hospitality, Aaron reflected on the meaningful connections the industry fosters:
“The first reason I love working in hospitality is the stories. I truly enjoy hearing stories from guests and colleagues alike — even in everyday conversations and small talk, there’s always something new to learn about life, culture, and different perspectives. The second reason hospitality is so meaningful to me is the opportunity to help others. Whether it’s a guest or a colleague, I genuinely want to make people feel supported and cared for.”
Aaron’s favourite place he has visited is Hai Phong, Vietnam — his hometown and a place that will always feel like home. Looking ahead, his dream destinations include London, where he hopes to visit Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, and Tokyo for its incredible culture, food, and energy.
Celebrating the Heart of Hospitality
From decades of steady excellence to emerging leadership and heartfelt service, Darin, Nitin, and Aaron each represent the dedication and passion that define hospitality across the GTHA.
We are proud to celebrate them as our March Faces of Hospitality.
