This year for Housekeepers Week, we want to take the time to recognize the incredible individuals who bring comfort, care, and excellence to every guest experience. Behind the scenes, their dedication keeps our hotels running smoothly and ensures that every stay feels like home.

We are proud to be spotlighting three outstanding team members whose stories reflect the passion, heart, and hard work that define our industry.

William Ojeda Gomez – The Sutton Place Hotel Toronto

From roofer to houseperson, William’s journey is one of resilience and determination. Arriving in Canada from Colombia just two years ago, William embraced a new language, a new career, and a new life with confidence and positivity.

Today, he can be found throughout the hotel ensuring every corner shines — always with a welcoming smile. His peers recognized his dedication by naming him Employee of the Year, a testament to the impact he has on both colleagues and guests.

The Sutton Place Hotel Toronto proudly celebrates William as part of its vibrant, multicultural team representing more than 20 nationalities.

Perlita Rabano – Novotel Vaughan

Since arriving in Canada in 2021, Perlita has brought passion and warmth to her role as a houseperson at Novotel Vaughan. From her very first day, she was welcomed like family, and that same spirit guides the way she cares for guests.

“Hospitality isn’t just my job – it’s my passion. I love creating clean, comfortable spaces and being part of a team that brings care and warmth to every moment.” – Perlita

She is proud of the skills she has gained through her work, which have helped her grow both personally and professionally.

Thamina Hunt – Hilton Toronto Airport Hotel & Suites

For three decades, Thamina Hunt has been the heart of her housekeeping team. Her career is defined not only by longevity but also by creativity, optimism, and an unwavering commitment to service.

Thamina intuitively tailors her work to each guest, ensuring that every stay is memorable. She mentors new team members, fosters teamwork, and extends her kindness beyond the workplace, preparing and serving meals for those in need in her community.

Her radiant smile and positive outlook brighten every room, making her an inspiration to colleagues and guests alike.

As her colleagues describe:

“Thamina Hunt is more than an exceptional team member — she is an inspiration to us all.”
