Andy Loges, General Manager at the Hilton Toronto Airport Hotel & Suites has been awarded the Ontario Hostelry Institute Gold Award - Hotelier; and, Kathleen Taylor, President & CEO of Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts received the Chairman’s OHI Gold Award. The awards will be presented on April 14th.

Congratulations to the Crowne Plaza Toronto Airport chef Tony Fernandes for bringing home a Silver medal from the prestigious Culinary World Cup 2010 held at the end of November. Chef Tony and 9 other members of Canada's Golden Horseshoe Culinary Team competed against 2,400 chefs from 53 countries at the Culinary World Cup 2010 in Expogast, Luxembourg.

Congratulations to Ryerson School of Hospitality & Tourism Management students Bianca Lauzer and Sarah Ferguson, recipients of the Greater Toronto Hotel Association Award for outstanding achievement. The GTHA supports hospitality and tourism scholarships annually at Ryerson, George Brown, Seneca, Humber, Centennial and the University of Guelph.  

Trump International Hotel & Tower Toronto slated to open in early 2011, announces its management team of Mickael Damelincourt as General Manager, Mary Ann Gamboa as Director of Sales, Sebastian Morton Lightly as Director of Finance and Pete Kangalee as Director of Human Resources.

Kathleen Taylor has been appointed CEO of Four Seasons Hotels Ltd. replacing Isadore Sharp who will transition from his role as CEO.

Construction has begun on a new $150-million boutique hotel and condominium project named Bisha at 56 Blue Jays Way. The new hotel will have a black and red themed Rock and Roll floor and a Hollywood Floor with a Beverley Hills theme. The 41-storey development will include 332 condo units .The project is led by Charles Khabouth, INK Entertainment, in partnership with Lifetime Developments Mel Pearl and Sam Herzog.

The Courtyard by Marriott Brampton received the Diamond Circle Award together with General Manager Umesh Srivastava who was also named as Diamond Circle General Manager for 2009. This places the Courtyard by Marriott Brampton in the top 5 of all Courtyard's in the world in both categories out of 850 hotels.

The Courtyard & Residence Inn by Marriott Mississauga Airport Corporate Centre West raised over $9000 for the Children’s Miracle Network in August 2010 at their annual fundraising event.

The Delta Chelsea Hotel reached a major milestone on August 12, 2010 with the arrival of the hotel’s 20 millionth guest since opening in 1975.

A seasoned team of hospitality industry veterans has joined the pre-opening effort for Trump International Hotel & Tower Toronto®, whose 261 hotel rooms and suites are slated to open to downtown guests in early 2011. They join recently appointed General Manager Mickael Damelincourt at the 60-story tower, which will soar above the corner of Bay and Adelaide Streets as Canada’s tallest residential building.
